Cakes, clothes swap, cocktails and more? What a bloody Saturday it was. From the intricate details of the event, to the swapping of items it was surely an amazing Saturday. Aimed to enable Manchester bloggers to meet, mingle and create bonds whilst trading fashionable items with one another, Rock on Ruby was truly a rockin’ day. In case you didn’t know, Rock on Ruby is an amazing online shop for all your t-shirt/jumper/gym wear needs. With their ability to produce items emblazoned with slogans, descriptions and more, either at your own request or from their online shop. And for those of you who didn’t know caption’s and slogan’s are so on point right now.
Arriving for 1pm and practically running down the stairs, In I popped for the event I’d so badly been looking forward to. With an introductory nametag and refreshing orange juice off I popped into the main area and rifled through the racks of clothing. Bloggers alike me from around the North West were attending and I was really excited to put some names to faces. As when you constantly spam Twitter and other social media, you talk to others but very rarely see them- So, this was a golden opportunity. Not only this but being able to catch up with the girls I’d seen not long ago was a right treat. Chatting over cake, sweets and delicious ‘kiss from Ruby’ cocktails we rambled on until it was time to hit the road.
Anyway…the idea behind the blog swap was for each of us to bring an item of clothing, accessories and more so that we could label em’ up and swop amongst ourselves. Ensuring that not only did we get something fabulous from the event, but it was totally cost free! Win, win for all eh. As I didn’t have many clothing options to take I’d decided that my overly excessive necklace collection could do with a clear out. So, four necklaces down later, I found myself rummaging in the beauty and accessories section, bagging one Stila lip-gloss, one Topshop lipstick and a beaut of a necklace(cheers Sass), I was so happy and ready for a mingle.
Two hours later, Holly and the Rock on Ruby girls swept around our feet, packing up items and were setting up things for home. Without realising the event had come to an end and we’d been nattering away waaaay past our leaving time, we had to go the hell on home. What can only be described as neckin’ my cocktail and grabbing my coat, all four of us left, hit the road and waved goodbye, as it wont be long until the next meet up. Roll on Wednesday 25th Feb, as if it’s anything like the Rock on Ruby event, it’ll be bloody smashin’.
