Time’s a Changin’

A little over a year ago I decided to be brave and start this blog. For those of you readin’ this you may think what’s actually so hard about starting a blog? Well, people let me tell you it aint easy… Opening yourself up to criticism, takin’ the plunge of letting people listen to your thoughts and posing behind a camera could lead to anxiety. However, I’ve found that bit by bit and time after time it get’s noticeably easier and you know what? If this makes you happy, content and give you a place of creativity then sod it- BLOGS FOR EVERYONE!

In seriousness, from being young I’ve always wanted to work within fashion. From believing that I wanted to be a writer, to then thinking PR and now onto something else, I’ve always been a little unsure. Yet what I did know is that it had to be within fashion. The only thing that had held me back was my confidence in my abilities….hello sob story. Having dabbled in different workplaces before (through and after uni( I’d decided that if I was going to get my foot in this fashion door I just had to start a blog. So, come May 2014 and welcome people to Sarcasm and Style!

Don’t get me wrong my intention of starting this blog wasn’t to become ‘the blogger’ (although this dream job would be a treat). But it was to allow me to express that creative side of me that couldn’t be shown in my 9-5 job. As much as I absolutely loved the people and place I worked, at the age of 25 I needed to gain that confidence and push through to challenge myself with the things that scared me. And as us Mancs say, I was going to ” sort me life out”. With blogging on the go I turned to writing for magazines, interning for designers and delved further into the passion that I’d always loved. Roll around one year later, an ever-growing blog, endless( and amazing) opportunities and my dream of working within fashion was finally at my fingertips. HOORAY!

Attending the interview, pushing through the trial day and handing in my notice, Its now that I’ve finally come to that place where after many years of work my time was changing. Therefore people I give to you with absolute happiness my new job; Content creator and blogger outreach for Ego shoes. With it being my first few days I’ve a lot to learn, but with absolute giddiness, the desire to do better and an actual obsession with shoes, I am determined to go far. There’s still a long road ahead but thanks to Ego I’m about to start livin’ my dream!

And on we go….bring on the new chapter.

P.s. Just how fit are their shoes? Leigh from Little Mix bashin’ out Ego caged heels.
