Happy Friggin’ Galentine’s . Yeah. You heard right.
If anyone knows me they’ll probably be thinking right now, ‘Er Emma. You’ve got a boyfriend aint ya’. And you know what, they’d be bloody right. This new term Galentine’s might seem as though it’s only for those gals without a boyfriend, but it totally isn’t.
To me, I see it as that way of treating yourself. You know that phrase ‘from me, to me’, well If that aint a motto of Galentine’s power (?) then don’t know what isn’t. Plus, that Faux suedette blush Primark jacket that I had my name on ain’t gonna sit there forever is it?!.
Although I’m one for showing those lads that we don’t need them and can totally do it all by ourselves (btw I’m singing Aretha Franklin R.E.S.P.E.C.T in my head, rn), we can also use this new Galentines term to build upon a new way (or breed if you wish) of women coming through. Those girls that even if with a man this V-day, don’t need that massive card, teddy bear or Tesco flowers bundled up for an extra 15 quid. Guaranteed it’d be nice to have the flowers, but as the years go on, you realise you don’t have to have them to feel happy.
So, with this girl power kinda notion goin’ on, this ‘Galentines’ I’ve decided to make a nice little list below of items I’d love to buy. And as I’m currently furnishing a new house and can’t afford, I’d like you lovely lot to do so instead.
The statement jean | Topshop diamanté mom jeans
The perfect jean to spruce up that Spring outfit. Pair it with a cropped slouch Jumper and over-sized bomber for casj-cool vibes.
All about the mesh | ASOS Mesh dress
That kinda cool thrown on that’ll add instant edge to your outfit.
The style staple | Missguided Long length biker jacket
Classic jackets that are perfect for layering. Whether it’s over the mesh dress and jeans or a LBD for night time dancing with your gals
